I admit it, I love to shop. I find it a good way to be visually stimulated, get to know yourself and often get new ideas for expressing yourself, plus I usually get great walking excersize. I feel it can be comparitive to browsing art galleries, you don't have to buy anything, you're just looking to find inspiration and see what's going on in the world.
This being said, how come there's so much crap in the world? Since I started working in stores that sold quality product, my taste has become increasingly particular of good quality. My concept of value has changed dramatically, I walked around to my favorite stores the other day and NOTHING WAS GOOD ENOUGH. And I can't even afford anything above this level of quality. Why are there no true bridge lines? Why is it you have to choose between the Gap and Barneys? What's the medium? JCrew? God I wish I could afford to one-stop-shop at Barneys, but what the hell, I guess sometimes struggling with money can force one to be more creative. Mixing and matching old and new, searching for that one of a kind vintage piece that everyone will notice because it's NOT in Barneys.
