The streets of the vLES have been open in Alpha for a while now and we've learned a lot about what it takes to run a virtual music utopia - thanks to you. During this initial period, we got some of your favorite musicians like Of Montreal and Les Savy Fav to stop by. Modrocket, the winner of our Kickstart contest, became one of your new favorite bands. Our virtual selves even met a virtual Jarvis Cocker.
The next step is to take what we've learned, apply it, and unleash an even better version of the vLES on the world. In order to do this, we'll be temporarily closing the virtual venues on Friday until later this year while we do some construction. We also need your feedback while we work: let us know everything you've loved or hated about vLES Alpha.
When we return, with vLES Beta, you'll notice some great improvements: you'll be able to open the virtual world with one click straight from your browser; you'll get whole new closets, looks, and new kinds of items for your virtual you.
In order to celebrate the last few days before this break, stop by virtual Cake Shop for a couple of our favorite shows. While the venues are closed, you can still come to vLES.com for clips from the concerts we've already shown.
The first change happens next week as vLES.com becomes a part of Flux, which is basically one big network of online communities focused around entertainment and other stuff that's the opposite of boring. This means you'll be able to check tons of other cool sites with tons of other ways to interact and meet decent human beings just like yourself.
In order to make this move, we have to change some things about how you log-in. You'll get an email with all that info on June 25th (it will also be posted in this thread).
