The End of the Vuniverse

May 18 2008 @ 8:24PM - DORK LORD

Kindof a sad night. The perpetual overcast blue-grey skies over the vLES seemed all the more melancholy. The lights of Pianos and Cake Shop seemed inviting but I knew what was in store - more vacancy, despair, forlorn longing for parties that will never happen amid their rendered walls. I'm waxing poetic obviously but the feelings for a place that doesn't really exist are real.

User "pitufina" joined me in my wanderings around 6:30. Alas, she only spoke Spanish and our communication was cut short. I speak pretty terrible Spanish actually and didn't wish to insult her with my sullied tongue. So there I was again, left alone, spinning around in circles, crying out with silence into the techno void of virtual oblivion.

I tried riding the blue bike near Mercury Lounge (actually just sitting on it was hard enough) and GabGabBurger appeared to cheer me up. She was lagging and soon left. Woe is me!

Maybe it was around 8pm that I realized I might be utterly alone until the lovely "tangomango" arrived. Her avatar went red shortly after I greeted her and my heart sank ever deeper.

The 11 o'clock hour had come and the absolute desolation indicated that something was wrong. I scrambled wildly around the dead world, running in and out of the familiar places, scurrying through the back alleys, trying to conjure up some hidden spirit left dormant from some earlier phase of programming. I tried to shout but had no voice. I tried to kneel but had no such emote. I bid my last adieu to the land of limitless potential cut short by intangible forces as mysterious as those which gave rise to it. Goodbye, dear ALPHA... goodbye.
