Do you like real country? Do you like Natural Light? Do you like drunken weeping and slurred sing-alongs? Well, then you should probably check out Madison Square Gardeners on Monday nights at National Underground in the LES (probably should add this venue to the vLES). These guys tore through Buck Owens covers, a rendition of I Shall Be Released that would make Rick Danko want to lose 50 pounds in his grave, and some truly inspired originals that will make you want to propose to the bartender and your best friend at the same time. The two guitar and pedal steel players traded/shat out tasty solos all night, the rhythm section made me want to punch my face in, and the keyboard player rocked his wurly harder than a wurly was meant to be rocked. This band is the shit. See you next Monday.
