Any thoughts on the pageant?
Here are mine:
1.) This was WRITTEN? Even before the WGA came to terms, the "Acadamy" pleaded to allow a temporary crossing of the picket line to as not to make John Stewart completely fall flat on his face. HOWEVER, credit to Stewart's realization that the Oscars are really just a TV show that needs to get done before Eyewitness News comes on. Somehow the show still seemed to be running on prune juice and Viagra. The live music numbers looked like a Technicolor nightmare from the late 60s when musicals ran the show (even though Sound of Music, Oliver, and West Side Story rule)... that's no excuse for the Music Man!... and the montages were like 5000mg dose of Lithium to the jugular. Am I still on number 1?
2.) The event DID have it's moments. I kinda lost it when Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress were announced... they both deserved it... can't remember who they were... you know though... yeah, them.
3.) Did anyone NOT see it coming? OF COURSE "NCFOM" WON BEST PICTURE!! Go Coco bros!
